Official Hurling Wall Opening

This past Saturday, November 11, 2023, Rockland GAA welcomed Uachtarán Cumann Lúthchleas Gael, Larry McCarthy to conduct the Official Opening of our Hurling Wall.

It started with our Chairman, Paul Levins, thanking everyone who was involved in the construction of the Hurling Wall. He also spoke about how great of an addition the wall is to the Club and how he believes that it will further the development of hurling and camogie in New York.

Paul passed it over to Larry McCarthy who went on to say how it is the first Ball Wall he has opened during his reign as GAA President. He added that without referees, there would be no games so we need to give referees more respect. At the ceremony, Tommy Fogarty and Brian Moloney, two of the men who worked on the wall, were presented with a framed jersey – half Rockland and half Tipperary for Tommy and half Rockland and half Limerick for Brian, to once again thank them for the amount of time they put into the project.

Thank you to everyone who attended this milestone for our Club. Also, thank you to Niall O’Gara and Ray Lennon for the photos.
