Field Day 2023

The day started off with u7 Boys and Girls Football Go Games and the u9 Hurling and Camogie Tournament followed by u7 Hurling & Camogie Go Games and the Dennis McHugh Memorial u9 Football Tournament. Between all 4 tournaments, there were 52 teams representing 12 clubs from New York, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts. Congratulations to all the winners of the u9 Tournaments:

🏆u9 B: Rockland
🏆u9 Girls: Rockland
🏆u9 Hurling: Rockland
🏆u9 Camogie: Rockland
Later in the day, we saw underage football and hurling games between Glenside and Rockland, and the Men’s 7 A-Side Gaelic Football Tournament for the Robert McKiernan Cup. Eight teams competed until it came down to Rockland and Mayo in the Final. Rockland had the lead going into the halftime break, but Mayo came out as winners in the end.
We had a great lineup of entertainment with Pearl River School of Irish Music, Mickey Coleman, The Connolly Brothers, Perfect Strangers, Kickin’ Nash, and The Narrowbacks, as well as Irish Dancers from Lynn Academy, Inishfree, and Scoil Rince Riordan.
The recipients of the Eileen Marie White Memorial Scholarship were presented on Field Day. Well done to Grace Kelleher and James O’Flynn and thank you to the White Family for their continued generosity.
The Annual Raffle Drawing was held before our final band of the night. Thanks to everyone who purchased a ticket to help us continue allowing children to play Gaelic sports without a registration fee. Congratulations to the winners:

3rd Prize (Golf): Mark Downes
4th Prize ($1,000): Dermot O’Brien
5th Prize ($500): Tom Dunne – Yonkers
